Yodice Associates

Yodice Associates is a law firm engaged in the private practice of law with special emphasis on aviation law.  Our firm represents individuals and companies engaged in aviation-related activities.  On behalf of our clients, we have appeared before the FAA, the NTSB, the courts, and sessions of Congress.

In particular, we represent all types of FAA certificate holders in enforcement proceedings, including airline pilots, general aviation pilots, flight schools, airlines, corporate flight departments, and airport owners.  We represent airmen in medical certification matters.  We advise persons purchasing and selling aircraft.  We advise aircraft and business owners entering into aircraft and airport lease agreements, and we advise clients about airport and airspace access.  In addition, we advise persons on aircraft registration and title matters, formation and operation of corporate ownership of aircraft, airworthiness issues, aviation insurance, federal and local tax implications of owning or using an aircraft, and a myriad of other aviation legal problems.

Our Washington, D.C. office is located just a few blocks from the Department of Transportation, the FAA, the NTSB, the Transportation Security Administration, the Department of Justice, and the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.  This allows the members of the firm to stay in daily and convenient touch with the agencies that have the most impact on aviation and with the forums that could be used to review and remedy the agency actions.  In addition, our office is within quick and easy access to the Congressional offices, allowing for us to interact with the lawmakers who affect aviation.  Our Maryland office is conveniently located at the Frederick Municipal Airport, where members of the firm base their aircraft.  We often meet with clients who fly their aircraft into the airport and walk into our office.

All of the Yodice Associates legal staff are pilots and most are also flight instructors.  Together, they have more than 100 years of experience in aviation matters.  The staff possesses experience in representing clients before the FAA, NTSB, DOT, TSA, United States District Court, and the eleven United States Circuit Courts of Appeals.

In addition to the representation provided to our clients, the legal staff of Yodice Associates lectures throughout the country and overseas on various aspects of aviation, including FAA enforcement, aviation insurance, liability aspects of commercial aviation activities, and aircraft sales, title, and escrow matters.  The staff regularly authors numerous articles for aviation publications and legal journals as well as a published book on FAA enforcement.
